Preface

提起石油，人们就会瞩目中东；提起有色金属钨，世界的目光就会聚焦中国，关注赣州。赣州素有“世界钨都”的美誉，是中国钨矿的发祥地。

Ganzhou, being the birth place of Chinese tungsten industry, is extremely rich in nonferrous metal tungsten and enjoys the reputation of “the Tungsten Capital of the World”. So when tungsten is talked about, people will naturally focus their eyes on Ganzhou , Jiangxi Province, PRC. just like that oil will remind people of Middle East.

1907年在赣州大余西华山最先发现钨矿，其后湖南、江西、广东等地也相继发现众多钨矿床，至今已整整一个世纪。百年风云，已渐渐远去，浑厚的岁月，正汇入世纪的河床。100年来，中国钨业前进的脚步曾何等的蹒跚，又何等坚定；100年来，中国钨业的发展道路，曾何等曲折，又何等光辉；100年来，中国钨业的面貌曾何等沧桑，又何等壮丽！

It has been a whole century since the tungsten ore was discovered in Xihua Mountain of Dayu County, Ganzhou City in 1907 and found in Hunan, Jiangxi and Guangdong province one after another at a later time. Gone is the last century. The centurial history of Chinese tungsten industry has merged in the world tungsten history. How stumbling but determined the developing steps of Chinese tungsten industry have been! How zigzagging but glorious the road of Chinese tungsten industry has been! How distressful but magnificent the history of Chinese tungsten industry has been!

没有光的世界，将是一片漆黑。人们对钨的认识，正是从钨用燃烧的热情，点亮夜的眼睛，送走夜幕，迎来黎明，为世界黑暗冷漠的夜晚，带来光明与激情！

A world without light would be darkness. Tungsten, lighting the darkness with its burning, sends away the dark and cold nights by welcoming the bright and passionate dawns.

Value comes from scarcity. Tungsten, as a valuable rare metal with strategic significance, deposits richly in China with a nature-endowed advantage accounting for the half of the world’s total tungsten reserves. A hundred years are just an instant in the long river of history, but it’s a centurial hardship for Chinese tungsten industry experiencing the development stage from nothing to powerful, from little to large, from weak to strong.

走过风雨，迎来彩虹。中国得天独厚，拥有丰富的钨资源，为我国钨工业的发展奠定了良好的原料基础。经过百年奋斗，已经形成了从地质勘查、矿山采选到冶炼加工、出口贸易以及产品检测、研发设计、教育培训等完整的钨工业体系，可生产数万个系列产品。

Rainbow appears after storm. With a nature-endowed advantages, China is abundant in tungsten resources which substantially contribute greatly to the growth of Chinese tungsten industry. Struggling over the 100 years, we have formed a complete tungsten industry system in which geological prospecting, mining, dressing and metallurgical processing, trades, product design, researching and designing, education and training are all involved. Now we have made marvelous progress in product upgrading enabling us to make series of products of thousands of types.
